Type of Incident: Removal of Old Radio Tower

On 05/20/2005 starting between 8 – 9 am , the Grinnell Police Department will be completing the final stage of a Communications Improvement Project.  Communications Integration Systems will be bringing down the old radio tower as the new cell/radio tower is in place.  German Plumbing and Heating of Grinnell will be removing the pieces of the old radio tower from the site.

 

In the last sixty days, the Grinnell Public Safety communications system has been greatly improved by the implementation of new technology and the moving of all radio antennas to the new cell tower placed in the North lot of the police department.  These improvements have augmented the efficiency of the public safety communication making things safer for our Police and Fire Personal.

 

Any persons interested in watching the old tower come down are encouraged to do so; from a safe distance.
